Everyday Life {Jumping in leaves and applesauce}

It’s finally fall here. Our weather finally got the memo from a month and a half ago that it’s fall. There are a ton of trees in our neighborhood and town and it’s just beautiful to drive through and see all the vibrant colors. Fall is by far my favorite season.

Our backyard has a beautiful tree that has been changing colors and has steadily been dropping it’s leaves the last week or so. It’s been a great science lesson for Landon. The tree had finally lost enough leaves to rake them all in a pile and do what every kid should experience in fall: jumping into a pile of leaves. It was supposed to rain the following day so it was now or never if we wanted dry (ish) leaves.

Landon wasn’t all too sure what exactly he was supposed to do. When we told him to run and jump into the pile he looked at us like we were a little nuts. He hesitantly made a slow jog, stopped and fell into the pile. Close enough for a “first timer”.

Brad was a super good sport and jumped into the leaves too. Landon thought it was the coolest thing ever. This was really a “sacrifice” for Brad because of his allergies. Even after the little jump he did he was itching all over and had to shower!

Riley is getting so big. Try carrying him around for 5 minutes and your arm feels like it’s going to fall off! He’s walking, sort of, so it shouldn’t be much longer that we have to cart him around. He also FINALLY has a tooth. “A” as literally 1. He’s 14 months old and still has 1. It’s it’s top left tooth. The top right one is really close to coming in too and the bottom two are showing signs of wanting to come in, but nothing much. This has made eating a bit difficult for him. He’s of the age where he wants to eat everything we are eating but without the teeth it’s a bit hard. He does pretty good at mashing stuff with his gums, but the teeth will help a lot.

He’s also been super interested in feeding himself. He wants the bowl and the spoon. 95% of the time he ends up looking like this though:

But this makes cleaning up the mess worth it!

See the tooth??? It’s super tiny (it JUST came in), but it’s there! I have proof!

  1. Awww, my kids both got teeth at 4 months so I didn’t get many gummy smiles!
