Fire Truck Birthday Party Food

DIY Fire Truck Birthday Party

Landon’s best buddy, Nathan, turned 3 a while ago. He had such a fabulous fire truck birthday party. His mom (one of MY best buddies!), Kelli, went all out with everything fire fighter and fire truck – after all Nathan’s dad is a fire fighter. The food was all themed around fire fighters, there were cute crafts, and the unforgettable home made cardboard fire trucks that we had fire truck races in.

I hope that if you have plans for a fire truck birthday party you can use some of these ideas. It seriously would be one of the best birthday parties!

Food

Fire Hoses (hot dogs), with 911 and Wildfire Sauce (mustard and ketchup), Mighty Mac Salad (Macaroni Salad), 3 Alarm Chili, and Fire Truck Fuel (Punch/Juice).

An adorable jello mold of a fire truck with fruit in it was also served.

The cake was white with Dalmatian like spots with cupcakes that had “fire” frosting. Ice cream was pre-frozen into cupcake papers to make for super easy serving.

Games

When we arrived, there were several stations set up of fire truck and fire fighter related activities. There were fire truck puzzles several fire truck crafts set up (she got them at oriental trading company I believe). It was a great way to fill the time while waiting for everyone to arrive. There were also fire hats and mini toy fire extinguisher for each child.

There was also a poster with a cut out for the kids to put their face in and have their picture taken as a fire fighter and a game of pin the fire hat on the fire dog.

The family had also made a home made fire bell pinata, which was a lot of fun for the kids to swing at and eventually fill their bags with candy from.

I think the most memorable game was the fire races.

DIY Fire Trucks

Cardboard box, red spray paint, black paper plates, some yellow and white paper, and a strap to hold it on . These fire trucks were such fun!

Fire Truck Race

The kids lined up for a race and ran around the yard to put out the “fire” (red and orange tissue paper tucked in some firewood logs). They all asked to race over and over; this was Landon’s favorite part of the party.

A huge “Thank you!” to Kelli for throwing such a great party and being willing for me to share what she did with all of you!

Do you know where she got the poster cut out? I am doing the same theme for my son’s birthday in December, so I need several cold weather ideas. Love this!

This looks awesome. I’m doing a cars & trucks theme for my son’s 2nd birthday party. Do you happen to have any idea what the dimensions were of the boxes you used? Thanks!

    1. Kelli

I got the boxes from Costco, so they were a variety of sizes. I just collected them as I saw sizes that looked appropriate for three year olds.

  6. […] Loving My Nest  shared these incredible fire truck boxes on her blog.  We just love this idea! The kids can customize them themselves as an activity at the party, or you could make them in advance of your party if the guests are under three years old.  The kids will love wearing these, and you can incorporate them into fun fire truck party games by holding simple races. Hi there, love the idea with firetruck races and would like to incorporate it into my son’s upcoming 3rd bday party. How were the “fires” put out – did they kids squirt water at them or pretend-play or stomp them out? Many thanks for your input!
