Shape coloring (Free Printable!)

Today Landon and I were working on another page for his ABC Book. When we were done he wanted to just color and draw, that turned into cutting out the shapes we were drawing, then when I was coloring I had one of the scraps of paper underneath the one I was coloring on and it reminded me of an art project/activity I would do with my kinders.

I cut out several shapes and put them under a larger piece of paper:

Then using crayons color over one of the shapes (on the larger paper). I had Landon guess what he thought the shape was going to be, and colored slowly and had him revise his guess as more clues were showing up. I was going to have him do the coloring, but he was insisting on “mommy do it”.

I thought we were done with that, then Landon grabs the glue stick, and matches up the shapes I colored to the impression and glued them ontop! Great idea!

This could totally be adapted to using letters or numbers for an added learning opportunity!

Want to do it? Here’s a printable I made for it! Have fun!
